I have a125 gallon with discus. What size uv sterilizer would I need to use.
Thanks!
<Will depend on the brand. You'll find each one rated for aquaria up to a certain size. What's acceptable for a marine aquarium will be acceptable for a freshwater aquarium as well. Will also depend on how it is connected to your aquarium (i.e., the flow rate of the pump used). Do remember that UV sterilisers reduce the risks of problems such as diatom blooms and Ick outbreaks: they do not entirely prevent them. For the most part, quarantining is a much better approach, and there's little value to UV sterilisers so far as most freshwater aquaria are concerned. They're most cost effective when used with ponds and to a lesser degree marine aquaria.
Cheers, Neale.>
