Family Dorididae... Halgeridae: Genera
Halgerda, Sclerodoris, Aphelodoris, Asteronotus,
Artachaea.
Genus Halgerda: Typically smooth, hemispherical
appearing, slimy to the touch. Rhinophores and gills white, with yellow
and black markings.

Family Hexabranchidae: Monotypic; the Spanish
Dancer.
Hexabranchus sanguineus (Ruppel &
Leuckart 1828), the Spanish Dancer. Large animal with a prominent
mantle. A notable swimmer when frightened. Laminar rhinophores.
Partially retractable second gills. Oral tentacles large,
flap-like. Red Sea, Indo-Pacific, including Hawaii, Atlantic. Eats
sponges, worms, slugs and echinoderms in the wild. This one

Family Notodoridae:
Notodoris (now Aegires?) minor Eliot 1904. East Africa to
the Solomon Islands. To three and a half inches in length. Feeds on
sponges. One off of Queensland, Australia, and a pair consuming an
Alcyoniid soft coral in N. Sulawesi. |
