Worldwide tropical distribution. Males smaller, more slender than
females. Keep in reef settings with a cave of their own. May
consume small fishes, other crustaceans. Eat most all meaty

the Bluelined Wrasse (3), of the Western Indian Ocean including the

Stripey. Sporadically distributed in western and eastern Australian
waters, Japan, Taiwan, Hawai'i. To six inches in length. Often
placed in its own family Microcanthidae. One in captivity.
