Whitesaddle Goatfish. Indo-Pacific, to the Tuamotus, but not
Hawai'i or the Red Sea. To fifteen inches in length. An
occasional import into the pet-fish trade. Image taken in

Goldsaddle Goatfish. Indo-Pacific out to Hawai'i, including the Red Sea. To
twenty inches in length. Yellow form not found in Hawai'i. A young male
in Fiji 2017. |

The Blue-Spotted
Jawfish, Opistognathus rosenblatti Allen &
Robertson 1991, of Mexico's Sea of Cortez (Gulf of California
in older, less PC texts) is a real striker, with brilliant blue
dots over it's overall dark brownish body. The males become
bright white in the front half of their bodies during spawning
and courtship. To six inches total length. This one in
