Galaxea sp. with "sweeper tentacles" out: Very aggressive stinger... even small specimens are able to "reach" a foot away...

Gymnothorax favagineus (Bloch & Schneider 1801), the Leopard or Tessellated Moray is one of the few members of the genus I can honestly endorse for home use. Most just get too big and mean (to at least 5.9 feet, possibly closer to ten in the wild). It is a handsome brownish black overall with a network of white to yellow reticulations. G. permistus is a junior synonym of G. favagineus. A two foot one at IZOO 2010

Gymnothorax flavimarginatus (Ruppell 1830). The Yellow Margin Moray. Black spot on gill opening, yellowish green margin on the fins. Indo-Pacific. To four feet in length but girthy. Common in Hawaii where it is often "tamed" by dive companies. Red Sea 2010

Hologymnosus annulatus (Lacepede 1801), the Ring Wrasse (2). Indo-Pacific, including the Red Sea east to the Marianas. To sixteen inches in length. Here is a terminal phase individual/male in the Red Sea.
