Siganus luridus (Ruppell 1829), the Dusky Spinefoot or Squaretail Rabbitfish. Western Indian Ocean, from the Red Sea down to Mauritius. Contaminant in the Mediterranean. To one foot in length. Sometimes with a decidedly lighter lower body area. This one in the Red Sea's Gulf of Aqaba 2019.



Genicanthus caudovittatus (Gunther 1860), the Zebra Angelfish (2). Red Sea along the east African coast, Mauritius and the Maldives. To six inches overall length. Male in the Red Sea 2019.



Pomacanthus (Arusetta) maculosus (Forsskal 1775), the Yellow-Band or Map Angelfish. Very similar as adults and juveniles to Pomacanthus asfur, with told apart from their clear tails and smaller yellow body patch. To eighteen inches long. Red Sea, Persian Gulf to east African coast. Adult in the upper Red Sea 2019.
 


Pseudanthias squamipinnis (Peters 1855), the Lyretail Anthias. Red Sea to western Pacific. To four and a half inches in length. A tough, but sometimes mean aquarium species. Red Sea 2019.
