Halichoeres poeyi (Poey 1860), the Rainbow Wrasse. Tropical west Atlantic; Florida to northern South America. To 13 cm. in length. Found in shallow muddy bays and grass beds. Juvenile in Roatan
 
Halichoeres trimaculatus (Quoy & Gaimard 1824), the Three-spot Wrasse. Indo-Pacific. To eleven inches in length. Adult terminal phase individual in Fiji. This species is used as food and occasionally in the aquarium trade.

Halichoeres vrolikii (Bleeker 1853), the Indian Ocean Pinstriped Wrasse. Indo-West Pacific. To five inches in length. Terminal phase individual in Raja Ampat, Indo. Labroides dimidiatus. This color form is common in Fiji especially in somewhat deeper water. Interestingly, the mimic blenny, Aspidontus taeniatus may assume the same yellow pattern. A juvenile in Fiji. A juvenile in Fiji.
